Are you ready to go ALL IN?

R+R Frequently Asked Questions

Vision & Purpose

Because we want to be a church deeply rooted in Christ while also rising to meet the needs of our community and future generations. It captures both our foundation and our forward momentum.

Picture what Image Church can achieve when we are ALL IN. There is strength in unity, especially when the church is ALL IN. Rooted and Rising is an initiative to reach our community and beyond with the Gospel. This is our moment to move forward together, trusting God to do more than we could ever imagine. We want to expand our ministry reach and make space for the growing Cypress community. This initiative is about more than a building; it’s about lives changed through the Gospel

Finance & Commitments

In the ROOTED phase, we plan to raise $2,500,000 to hire staff, support ministry growth, outreach, and resources.

In the RISING phase, we plan to raise an additional $1,000,000 for the expansion of our current campus (renovations, additional sanctuary space, children’s classrooms, parking, and ministry facilities).

Commitment cards show a breakdown of what annualized giving to Rooted + Rising could look like, and they also give space for us to make commitments toward that giving over the next two years.

We will be encouraging everyone to turn in their commitment on November 9th, 2025. If you would like to turn it in sooner, please do so by dropping it in the tithe box on a Sunday morning.

This is a two-year over-and-above giving commitment period between December 2025– December 2027.

Your commitment to this initiative is voluntary. While we hope you honor the commitment made, we completely understand that life happens. We trust in God’s provision, for both you and our church.

This helps us for tax purposes.

Yes. As a non-profit, Image Church does not pay taxes on offerings and donations.

  • Online via the giving portal

  • In person (tithe box, offering envelopes)

  • By mail

  • Stocks, assets, or planned gifts

We will scale the project appropriately and trust God’s provision. The vision will still move forward, though possibly in phases.

No. Giving is between you and God. We will provide tools and encouragement, but no one will monitor your pledge.

Yes. Fundraising opportunities will be provided to help supplement giving, but the primary goal is individual commitments.

Funds beyond the goal will accelerate debt reduction and allow us to add more features (e.g., upgraded technology, enhanced ministry areas, or additional community space).

Expansion Details

Our pastor identified five challenges with our current setup:

  1.   Capacity: We are already nearing capacity of our sanctuary and our children need more adequate space to learn and worship.

  2.   Burnout:  Staff and volunteers. We lack the staff/volunteer  bandwidth to support a third worship service.

  1.   Outreach: Connecting with the Community. Currently, we are unable to host larger community events in the growing Cypress area because we have limited capacity to host our guests and members.

  1.   Parking: We currently have limited and inadequate parking for our current membership.

  1.   Atmosphere: Gym, Classrooms, Office Space. We want to provide a safe, clean, and purpose-built worship environment, classrooms and office space.
  • More sanctuary seating to welcome more people

  • Additional classrooms and kids’ ministry areas

  • Expanded lobby and gathering spaces

  • Improved parking capacity

  • Office and ministry support areas

Yes. We will continue gathering and worshiping in our current space while construction is underway. Some adjustments may be needed during certain phases, but church will not stop.

Once funding goals are met and contractors are secured, expansion will move forward in phases. The expansion is estimated to take 12 to 18 months after the engineering and permitting phase.

Impact

By creating more space, we can:

  • Invite more families and individuals to hear the Gospel

  • Host larger community events in Cypress

  • Provide more opportunities for children and students to grow in faith

  • Equip volunteers and leaders to serve without the strain of overcrowding

In the Rooted phase, we would be able to expand our current children’s space. In the Rising phase, a dedicated children’s building would provide.

  • Safer, more secure environments for every child

  • Age-appropriate learning spaces designed for discipleship

  • Room to grow as families continue joining our church

  • A strong message to the next generation that they belong here

Will this affect our regular budget?

No. Regular tithes and offerings will continue to support ongoing ministry. Rooted + Rising is a separate, over-and-above initiative dedicated to expansion and outreach.

Only the finance team will have access to individual commitments.

Yes. You can increase, decrease, or adjust your pledge as circumstances allow.

Our goal is to raise as much as possible to minimize debt. Any financing will be carefully managed and communicated to the congregation.

Progress updates will be shared during services, emails, and on our website with visuals of construction phases.

We will celebrate what God has done, continue using our expanded space, and prayerfully discern future initiatives.

Everyone is welcome to participate at any level—through prayer, serving, or giving
